What Causes Insomnia?

Diagnosing Insomnia - when is poor sleep considered an insomnia disorder?
If sleep difficulty occurs at least 3 nights per week for at least 3 months despite adequate opportunity for sleep, it can be classified as an Insomnia Disorder.
Inattentive Symptoms Include:

A complaint of dissatisfaction with sleep quantity or quality, associated with:

Difficulty initiating sleep.

Difficulty maintaining sleep (frequent awakenings or trouble returning to sleep).

Early-morning awakening with inability to return to sleep.
This sleep disturbance may lead to impairment in social, occupational, academic or behavioral functioning.
